What is resin preservation?
Epoxy resin is polymer that is strong and
durable once cured.
Preserving objects in resin is a great way to freeze a moment in time—turning delicate blooms,
keepsakes, or tiny treasures into stunning, crystal-clear art. Whether it’s a wedding bouquet,
memorial sprays, meaningful trinkets, or simply something beautiful you want to keep forever,
resin transforms your memories into one-of-a-kind pieces that last a lifetime.
What makes resin preservation so exciting is its mix of creativity and science that
suspends your memories in a glass-like finish forever.
From elegant display pieces to wearable art each
piece is uniquely yours.
How long will it take & how much does it cost?
Just like your memories, each order is unique to you.
The estimated time and price will be different for
each order based on the size, complexity and
number of pieces you order, size and number
of flowers, and time of year.
Large orders may take as long as 4-6 months,
while smaller orders could take less time to complete.
This may seem like a long time, but it takes
3-6 weeks alone for the flowers to fully dry
before the design and resin process can even begin.
Once we meet and decide on what pieces you would like, you will be provided with a full breakdown
of price before any work begins.
Patience is a virtue, and making sure everything is
done right ensures your piece will last forever.
Will my resin piece be perfect?
While I strive for perfection, no piece
will be 100% perfect.
Minor imperfections are a natural part of making unique, handmade resin art.
These may include tiny air bubbles, slightly visible
layer lines, and ambering (or yellowing).
Many flowers dry much darker than their
fresh color, while white flowers tend to dry
to a cream or beige color which can add
a beautiful vintage look to the final piece.
Epoxy resin is sensitive to UV light and
ambering over time is unavoidable.
To slow down this process, it is best to keep your
preserved piece away from direct sunlight.
Pieces that have colored backgrounds or tinted resin,
or include blue or purple flowers can disguise
ambering better than completely clear pieces.
Flowers that do NOT preserve well
Succulents, Daylilies, Iris, Mums, Orchids,
Hypericum, Sunflowers, and any flower with a high moisture content or that is extremely delicate
Flowers that DO preserve well
Carnations, Ranunculus, Spray Roses, Hydrangea,
Queen Anne's Lace, Lisianthus,
Marigolds, Delphinium, Roses
Can you preserve other things?
Absolutely!
The only things to avoid are items that contain
moisture as they will rot after they are encased in resin.
Cloth or material are also not ideal as they
tend to still look wet or soggy after the resin cures.
Besides the above, your imagination is the only limit!
I can’t wait to help preserve your memories!
